Kate + Adi: A New Leaf Wedding

Kate and Adi began the day getting ready at Hotel Lincoln, a hip Lincoln Park hotel nestled between cobble stone patches and ivy-clad buildings. Kate paired her dress with fun and corky parrot shoes, and a beautiful floral head dress, while Adi finished his look with his signature dapper hat. They met for a quick first peek at one another in the park, before joining their bridal party and waltzing down the street to the uber cool industrial floral shop and wedding venue, A New Leaf.

They shared a quick moment in the brick and cement-pillared halls of their venue, before taking a breath in the courtyard, surrounded by antique pieces and gardening accouterment. They soon met their guests in a joyous ceremony, complete with celebratory kazoos that guests enthusiastically played during their exit.

The bride and groom then met their guests for a beautiful sunset cocktail hour in the courtyard, before heading to the reception for lots of laughs, some good cheers, and a bounteous buffet by Hearty Boys catering. They ended the night with a delectable spread of Hoosier Mamas pies - (because who doesn’t love pie!) - before dancing the night away with Cage and Aquarium DJ group.

Andersonville Engagement Session

Ariel + Matt live in the quaint neighborhood of Andersonville. We spent some time in their cozy garden unit with their kitty, where Ariel showed off a special ring that Matt had given to her in Iceland where they were engaged (before choosing her official vintage engagement ring), nestled in some black Icelandic sand that Ariel’s sister collected from that very beach where Matt popped the question.

We then strolled through the neighborhood to visit some of their favorite spots. We stopped at Lost Larson to warm up with some coffee and the most incredible Lingonberry almond cakes, then visited some of the many Andersonville scenic staples before spending some time soaking up the warmth of the sun at Lake Michigan.

Congrats on your engagement, you two!

Lush Green Garfield Park Engagement Session

Kate + Adi met 5 years ago at a First Friday in Wicker Park, where their love of creativity brought them together. They’ve been hand in hand ever since, frequenting antique shops, bowling alleys, and their favorite brew stops. They will be getting married at the lusciously green venue, A New Leaf this summer, and to gear up for that, we headed out, mid-winter to get some warmth and greenery at the lovely Garfield Park Conservatory.

We then hit up one of Kate + Adi’s favorite Lincoln Square spots - Davis Theater, where they visited their own initials encrusted in the cement, marking the beginning of their relationship. We strolled through the quaint streets of Lincoln Square on our way to our last stop - a favorite German tavern, Huettenbar, to soak up the evening with a couple beers and some cozy hygge decor. Cheers!
