Lydia + Brian

I’m so very excited to show highlights from one of my favorite weddings from this season. Lydia + Brian were married at the beautiful Elawa Farm in Lake Forest, Illinois. They shared the day with friends and family amidst the colorful summer gardens, light-strung courtyards, and rustic barn interiors. Guests were entertained with cocktails, decadent cheese plates and yard games, while Lydia and Brian frolicked on the farm, enjoying their first moments as husband and wife.

The evening continued with kind words and heartwarming speeches in the courtyard, followed by a dinner, dancing, a surprise birthday pie for the Father of the Groom, and an impromptu chair dance for the newly married couple.

This beautiful farm wedding was brought together by:

Ria + Brian

Ria + Brian met at Arrigo Park for a special first look, followed by a jaunt with their wedding party through the West Loop area for fun, urban industrial photo ops before heading to Kitchen Chicago for their wedding ceremony. Here, they brought two joyous families together, joining Filipino and Jewish traditions, and including little Bella in the ceremony by presenting her with a special necklace, gifted from Brian.

Cocktails and appetizers were had following the ceremony with a lighthearted folky performance by Man Bread, before the guests were lead up to City View Loft for a night of good eats and celebration, including of course, singing, dancing, and lots of cotton candy!

Special thanks to the following vendors for contributing to such an awesome wedding:

Kitchen Chicago
City View Loft

Florescio Films ( a great partner in crime for the day! Can’t wait to see his video)

Courtney + Justin

Occasionally, I will second shoot for other wedding photographers. It’s something I really enjoy doing, because as a second photographer, I have more opportunity to capture candid moments between the bride and groom, and their friends and family. On this wedding, I was playing side kick to fellow Green Wedding Alliance member, Heather Decamp, of Heather DeCamp Photography.

Courtney + Justin got married on a frosty April day, where the flowers were just beginning to bloom, and the season had gifted us with its final snow flurries. I spent time with the groom and his groomsmen, and they prepared at Loew’s Hotel, and as we arrived in trolley at St. Michael’s Church in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago, I peeked in on the bride and her girls as she prepared to walk down the aisle.

After the ceremony, we headed over with the bridal party to Lincoln Park Zoo for some photos of the happy bride and groom.
